Mission
The San Diego Regional Asthma Coalition is a collaborative of diverse agencies and individuals committed to providing leadership in identifying, developing, mobilizing and coordinating resources to prevent asthma and positively impact the lives of people affected by asthma.
Strategic Plan
In 2002, the coalition completed a 3-year strategic plan. It focuses on information and resources, environment, outreach and education, research and data, and asthma policy. Work Groups are now meeting to implement the plan's objectives. Click here to download the Action Plan.
Accomplishments
The first Asthma Report Card for San Diego County offers a comprehensive picture of how asthma affects San Diego County residents.
The San Diego Regional Asthma Coalition has published an Asthma Resource Directory. This comprehensive listing includes community resources for asthma management, health care services, education, research studies, and support groups.
The Coalition is participating in a three-year statewide initiative being funded by the California Endowment. Called the Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA) Initiative, the goal is to improve the environments where children with asthma live, learn and play. The Coalition is focusing these efforts on the San Diego Mid City neighborhood.
Meeting Dates
The General Coalition meets six times per year (January, March, May, July, September, November) on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Work Group meetings vary. For more information about the Coalition, please call (619) 297-3901, or check the Coalition's Web site.
