SCAMP Camp Medical Staff Volunteer Info
SCAMP Camp (Southern California Regional Medical Program) needs volunteer medical staff each year. Physician staff can include allergists, pulmonologists and pediatricians. Nurse practitioners, RN's, respiratory therapists and other allied health care providers are also needed.

Open Airways for Schools (OAS)
Volunteer instructors are needed to bring this interactive asthma-management curriculum to schools. OAS classes are offered to children with asthma who are in grades 3-5. We'll train you as an instructor and provide all classroom materials. Contact Sacsy@lungsandiego.org.
Health Fair Representatives
Volunteers are needed to staff the Association's booth at health and career fairs which are held throughout the community. Display and handouts are available at the ALA office. Your time commitment is usually about 4 hours. Contact diane@lungsandiego.org.
In-house Volunteers
Our offices in San Diego and Imperial Valley need help with office/clerical work such as labeling over 7,500 newsletters monthly, assembling lung health packets that are mailed out, and many daily tasks. Contact diane@lungsandiego.org.
Speakers Bureau
Qualified speakers can appear at local businesses, schools, and senior centers that request a speaker to visit their facility to talk on lung health issues. Your presentations would last anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour. Handouts are provided. Contact diane@lungsandiego.org.
Lung Function Screenings
Qualified medical staff is needed to conduct lung function screenings in the San Diego area. You would conduct spirometry screening and counsel individuals who may have asthma. Contact diane@lungsandiego.org.
Program Interns
Interns are a valuable part of the ALA SD/IC team. Internships are available each semester/quarter for both undergraduate and graduate-level college students. Areas of internship include asthma, tobacco, tuberculosis, environmental health, influenza and program evaluation.
