The American Lung Association Asthma Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) marked a milestone July 1, 2004 as it embarked on its next five years' work and welcomed its 20th center--the ACRC at the Regents of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
With the backdrop of UCSD's intensive research infrastructure, Co-Principal Investigators, Stephen I. Wasserman, MD and Joe W. Ramsdell, MD, bring more than 60 years' combined asthma and airways research experience to the ACRC. The ACRC will focus on real-world studies where improved patient care is the immediate goal.

The Center of Allergy Associates Medical Group Research Center was established in 1986 to conduct clinical trials of new medications in the area of allergy and asthma related fields.
These trials are carried out under FDA guidelines and offered to children and adults of San Diego. New medications, devices, and reformulations of existing medications are all areas of the center's research studies.
Our mission is to maintain patient needs as our utmost priority; to provide the highest quality care for our patients; and to conduct studies of new and innovative therapies.

Allergy and Asthma Medical Group and Research Center has been involved in the evaluation of medications being developed for the control of asthma and other respiratory related problems.
Allergy and asthma diagnosis and treatment requires the services of highly trained physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and office personnel with special skills and an understanding of the impact of these disorders on patients and their families.

The Institute of HealthCare Assessment, Inc. (IHCA) is an independent research center created to provide an appropriate blend of business organization, with an experienced full time research staff, and qualified Investigators. IHCA provides the organizational structure, staff and facilities for the Investigators to better meet the demands of clinical research.
IHCA, Inc. is in its 7th year as a dedicated research center. In this period IHCA, Inc. has completed projects in most areas of internal medicine specialization.

Center for Behavioral Epidemiology and Community Health (CBEACH) is an extramurally supported research center within the Graduate School of Public Health in the College of Health and Human Services at San Diego State University.
The center conducts scientific investigations in many areas including: reduction of passive smoking in asthmatic children and behavioral counseling for families recruited from allergy/asthma specialty clinics.
