Important Pulmonary Fibrosis Message
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a chronic disease of excessive lung scarring. It is uncommon, affecting 70 people out of every 100,000, usually in middle age or afterwards. As with any chronic illness, it is extremely important to become well-educated about the disease. Knowledge, emotional support and psychological counseling are cornerstones of coping. A new support group has started in San Diego for those with Pulmonary Fibrosis, headed by Dr. Cecilia Smith and Dr. Julie Wood of the Interstitial Lung Disease clinic at UCSD. For more information contact Dr. Wood at 619-543-7300.
