Making the World Friendlier
Our region can be an unfriendly place if you have COPD. Polluted air and the hectic pace at which most people live their lives can be more than unpleasant· sometimes it's dangerous! When public safety or health is an issue, the American Lung Association is a reliable advocate. You can help us by lending a hand: your voice, letter or e-mail can introduce decision-makers to the things that need fixing! Here are some examples:
- Access to Health Care. At the county level, the state level, and the national level, the Association agrees with many public health advocates that improved access to care will mean better communities.
- Freedom to Travel. People who must use oxygen often face significant obstacles or are barred from traveling on airplanes or other public transportation. The Association supports laws that will guarantee those who must have oxygen with the freedom to travel.
- Medical Financial Assistance. The Association advocates additional financial support for medical needs that include oxygen and related equipment. Contact us at 619-297-3901 if you would like to make a donation or have a need for oxygen respiratory equipment.
