Both San Diego and Imperial Counties have serious air pollution problems which impact health. How can you help? Your support of the Association's Clean Air For our Community program will help us continue the fight to protect and improve local air quality.

The program includes environmental education for youth, advocacy efforts for strong clean air laws, and community outreach to communities facing unique clean air challenges. The Association also advocates for continued development of zero-emission vehicles and other clean air technology. Sponsor Kids for Clean Air - The program is for students in grades 2 through 8. Your sponsorship provides a curriculum for the teacher along with reference materials and elements the students need to go through the course and enter the Association's annual Kids for Clean Air Poster Contest.

Promote clean air inside the classroom - by sponsoring the Association's Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools program. Developed in cooperation with the national EPA, the program gives school personnel the knowledge and much of the equipment they need to reduce the level of toxic chemicals and other pollutants in the air at schools. Sponsor a school or schools in your area… or lock in clean air benefits through the Mentor Program, where your sponsorship sends a Certified Industrial Hygienist to a needy school to conduct a walk-through inspection and educate school staff on air quality issues.

Clean Air Monthâ - A national program of the American Lung Association, Clean Air Month each May showcases air quality - both indoors and outdoors. Your sponsorship or partnership can help educate the community and improve lung health. Opportunities for individual action, public policy advocacy, and community events are available.

Environmental Justice - Some communities bear especially large amounts of air pollution. Your sponsorship will help us work for strong clean air laws, community education, and outreach to the neighborhoods that face these unique clean air challenges.
