TB Coalitions
The American Lung Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties is committed to reducing the impact of TB in our community. Recognizing that partnerships are essential to fighting TB on many fronts, the Association serves as the convener of the San Diego Regional TB Task Force and the Pediatric TB Task Force. Regional TB Task Force
This network of health care providers, community-based agencies, and persons interested in TB is undergoing a strategic planning process to prioritize the group's TB initiatives for the year 2,000 and beyond. You can be part of this process by joining the Task Force. You do not have to be a TB expert or health professional-we are looking for a wide cross-section of representatives from geographic, ethnic, and service communities as we craft a regional TB control strategy.
Pediatric TB Task Force
This coalition of physicians, health educators, and other professionals meets monthly to coordinate TB prevention and treatment efforts for children. A major accomplishment has been the introduction of a centralized pediatric TB Clinic at the San Diego County TB Control headquarters. Here, physicians from UCSD and Children's Hospital provide specialty TB care that is sensitive to the special needs of children.
